Suggest Treatment For Elevated Blood Glucose Levels

HI, I recently did a blood test after riding my bicycle for 20mins, my blood glucose was higher than the warning limit (about 6.7) - is this something to be worried about? My diet is pretty good, lots of whole foods - very little processed. Most of my sugar comes from fruit (and beer a few times a week).

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is not good to have higher blood sugar levels. Visit your dermatologist at the earliest & get medicines.

Higher blood sugar levels lead to complications like cardiovascular disease, kidney problem, neuropathy, diabetic retinopathy, etc.

Take nuts, chickpeas, yogurt, flax seeds, avocados, strawberries, leafy greens, cinnamon, eggs.

Lower your carbohydrate intake, increase fiber, exercise regularly, stay away from stress & anxiety. Take adequate sleep.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
