Suggest Treatment For Enlarged Circumvallate Papillae On Back Of Tongue
My question is... I've have only one enlarged circumvallate papillae on the left side on the back of my tongue for about a month now. It don't seem to be sore anymore and shrunk a little bit...but it hasn't gone down all the way. What can it be.... I bite my tongue a month ago but in the front of my tongue... and then my lingual tonsil was sore and now it's finally healed but since then the papillae is still enlarged.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain as the enlarged circumvallate papilla is no more sore and it has also shrunken to some extent then there is a possibility that the papilla has reduced to its normal anatomical size as circumvallate papilla has an anatomy that they are normally raised structures and it seems that it is not swollen.. In case if it is slightly swollen also you need not to worry as the soreness has subsided that means the inflammation has reduced and gradually the swelling will also reduce if it is present.. You can gargle with warm saline gargles and maintain a good oral hygiene and nothing else is needed as of now..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
