Suggest Treatment For Epididymal Cyst

I work with a developmentally disabled 14 year old. He has developed an epidydimal cyst due to excessive masturbation according to pediatrician. Are there any deterrents I can use (other than punishment) to reduce the frequency? I already have caregivers supervising him at all times

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Epididymal cyst is a non-cancerous (benign) growth filled with clear liquid appearing on the top end of the testis. It is also called 'spermatocele'.
Most cysts, if it is small does not require any treatment.
You may require to give scrotal support to prevent testis from sagging.
Depending on the size, its treatment include drainage of the cyst using a needle (aspiration of the fluid). You may require to take a course of antibiotics to prevent infection.
Kindly consult Surgeon in this regard for appropriate management.
All the best.
