My Neurologist wants me to do an EEG over the summer. I have already been through a hippocampectomy for my epilepsy and im on a VNS because the hippocampectomy didn't cure me. The VNS hasn't helped either and I'm on 6 medications. Each time I've done an EEG it was determine if I was a candidate for procedure. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is it necessary for me to have to go through another EEG if there's nothing else we can do with my epilepsy?
It's a good question. I'm inclined to say that the EEG wouldn't really bring much gain. However you should discuss it also with the neurologist in question, what information is he trying to get and how would it affect your management, there might be nuances of your case I am not aware of and he might elucidate.
