Suggest Treatment For Fatigue And Small Red Blood Cells
I have small red blood cells & feel fatigued most of the day. I have had several tests & all come back negative on disease/anemia/thyroid issues. My doc wants me to try Lysteda during my cycle; but have read it has terrible side affects. Any suggestions how I can get my red blood cells to grow bigger?
As per your symptoms and findings, you seem to have Iron deficiency anemia as the same presents with fatigue and has small RBCs. The cause of the same seems to be chronic blood loss due to may be excessive bleeding during your cycles and so Lysteda may be helpful with same. So you must take the same in view of excess bleeding.
For further workup we need following 1. Peripheral blood smear 2. Serum iron profile (Fasting) 3. Serum vitamin B12 and folic acid levels 4. Stool R / M, ova / cyst 5. USG Whole abdomen
For treatment we may consider: 1. Tab Bandyplus single dose 2. Tab Multivitamin (A to Z) for a week We may review with investigations
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Santosh K. Pandey, General & Family Physician
