Suggest Treatment For Feeling Of A Lump In Throat While Having Acid Reflux
I have had problems with my throat for about 9 months now. It often feels like I am swallowing a golf ball. Kind of a lump in the throat. My voice is horse and my ability to sing has gone out the window. I do have re-flux and have been on omeprozole for 10 years or so. I had a scope of my throat in july where he saw evidence of reflux and he stretched my throat, then an ultrasound of my thyroid in December, and I saw a ENT that looked into my throat and at my vocal cords. Everything checked out ok. However I continue to have this lump in my throat and a horse throat. The only other things I have noticed is excessive night sweats, in the past has not a problem as long as I use my estrogen patch but that isn t helping now. I have also noticed that my face gets really red and my head feels like it is going to explode. I have also noticed some strange heart beats. I m sure some of this is not related but I am trying to cover everything that seems different for me.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of feeling of a lump in throat while having acid reflux. Well acid reflux is very common problem. It may be due to reduced lower esophageal sphincter tone and increased production of acid in stomach. Need not to worry. Treatment of acid reflux depend upon taking medicine and alteration in lifestyle. I would suggest you to avoid spicy and heavy meal specially at night. Eat at least one hour before going to bed, take a light walk for 15-20 mins after every meal , take antacid after every meal like gelusil. Don't lie down immediately after eating food. You should take plenty of fluids. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and start treatment after complete prescription. Avoid taking outside food.
