Suggest Treatment For Fever And Conjunctivitis

My granddaughter has pink eye in both eyes. Diagnosed yesterday. She ran a fever last night and again tonight 101.8. I noticed that her cheek is also very red and warm (on the same side as where the pink eye started). My experience with pink eye is that I ve never had a fever. Is that a signal of something worse?
