Suggest Treatment For Fever In Kid
My son has had a fever of 101 on and off since Saturday night. We have given him motrin and tylenol alternatively. Is there anything else we can do for him? Do we need to have his physician or his nurse practioner check him over tomorrow. He appears to have no other sysmptoms.

Fever of few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever as usually most combination medicines combine Paracetamol with NSAIDs and is not advisable.
