Suggest Treatment For Fever, Productive Cough And Sore Throat

I have had a fever for three days. Only 99.2-99.9. I have a productive cough (yellow), sore throat. Lots of mucus. Headache. Nasal mucus clear to white. Ears stuffed up. Should I wait to go see a doctor until Monday, if the fever is still there, and just stay home and treat the fever and drink lots of fluids?

Hello
You are having fever , PRODUCTIVE cough ( yellow in color ), sore throat , mucus ( lot of ),headache , nasal mucus , ear stuffed .
All these symptoms may be due to these possibilities ,these include:
1 Allergic bronchitis , when such case visit I prescribe levofloxacin 10 mg /kg body weight ,once in day orally .
Take some anti allergic as montelukast and paracetamol ( OTC ).
2 Bronchiectasis , as you mentioned that mucus is yellow in color i.e. infection . Diagnosis can be confirmed by X ray chest , sputum for culture and physical examination by a physician .
3 Strep infection.
However , these symptoms may be due to flu , so till Monday take tylenol and if all these symptoms persist then consult a physician and get his opinion.
Till take steam inhalation as this will produce bronchodilation .
Hot coffee will also provide some relief for some time.
