Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter, 1 year and 9 months currently has a fever and has had multiple bloody noses throughout the day. Gave her some tylenol, fever has reduced. She looks lively and is playing around the house. I ve got two older girls as well, but never really had an issue with bloody noses and a fever. Should I be concerned?
HI. THE MOST COMMON REASON FOR NOSE BLEEDING IN CHILDREN IS DUE TO NOSE PRICKING WITH FINGERS OR FOREIGN OBJECTS. THE SECOND MOST COMMON FOR NOSE BLEEDING IS DUE TO A SMALL CUT OR DIRECT INJURY TO NOSE IN SOME CASES EXCESS HEAT OR HOT CLIMATE CONDITIONS ALSO LEADS TO NOSE BLEEDING IN FEW CHILDRENS.
FIRST APPLY PRESSURE ON NOSE WITH COTTON TO STOP BLEEDING AND NEVER MAKE THEM SLEEP POSITION WHILE NOSE BLEEDING. THESE ARE THE FIRST AID TIPS TO BE FOLLOWED..APPLY ICE IF THERE IS A SWELLING WITH INJURY. BUT IN YOUR CHILD CASE , EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE NORMAL, ANYHOW TAKE HER TO AN E.N.T DOCTOR FOR NOSE EXAMINATION IF BLEEDING STILL PERSIST. THANK YOU
