hi i am a 47 year old female and 6months ago i had fibroid tumors which led me to having UFE done and now im back to were i started such as bleeding -back pain the weight gain and so on.My question is im not a hospital person is there something over the counter that i can buy that cures fibroids
I understand your concern. Unfortunately I have seen many women in my clinic that come back with bleeding after embolization procedures. They tend to provide short term relief and we use them mainly in cases posted for surgery where we anticipate a lot of blood loss during surgery. The embolization tends to decrease the blood loss a bit.
There are no over the counter medicines to cure fibroids. Certain drugs like Gn Rh analogues are used with prescription but are associated with many side effects.
Fibroids tend to regress spontaneously after menopause in many women. However if you are experiencing bleeding again, it is advisable to see your doctor and discuss other treatment options like a myomectomy [removing the fibroids] or a hysterectomy [more advisable in women after 45 years and with completed child bearing].
