Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having 2 major problems 1. Flatulence 2. The sensation of incomplete bowel evacuation (If I take medicine(ulcet/Mories) I donâ??t get this symptom) Flatulence: â?¢ Flatulence exists at all the times of the day even after complete bowel evacuation. â?¢ It increases when my anxiety (/stress/tension) increases. â?¢ Sometimes increases as the day progresses â?¢ I donâ??t have any pain in the stomach or abdomen â?¢ Sometimes I feel the gas formation near to the anus itself (may be in colon) , sometimes in stomach but many cases I donâ??t feel the gas formation, but there is emission of foul smell. It is very humiliating and I get very cautious about It and this intern increases the flatulence and makes me to avoid social gathering and meetings. I cannot concentrate in my work properly. I have been to many doctors but I didnâ??t get the cure. Some said it is acidity, some said IBS. They told there is no proper cure and to do regular exercise. I was told to stop taking milk and I have done that. I tried not eating potatoes, cabbage, beans etc. but it is not helping much. I feel I swallow lot of air, so I have tried to reduce it. Is there a cure for this? What should I do?
Your symptoms seem to be related to irritable bowel syndrome. Stress can increase bowel movements so I would recommend lowering the stress on a daily basis.
I recommend you to use daily probiotics, eat a fibre-rich diet and drink a lot of water. If you continue to have gas you can use simethicone medication three tablets a day.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
