Suggest Treatment For Fluid In Ears During Pregnancy

I am 7 months pregnant and for the past 4 months had fluid in my ears, I also have extreme ear pain and the fluid is getting worse. I was told that after I have the baby they will put ear tubes but for now the pain is worse is there something else to do to relive the pain until the tubes are put in..I can t even hear anything anymore

Hi,

If your pain is severe and hearing is affected,it would be advisable to have the ear tubes inserted now..as the tympanic membrane may rupture ..and that could cause more damage..
Any surgical procedure is risky in pregnancy but the risk and benefit need to be discussed as you are also complaining of hearing loss ..

Do get a joint opinion of your ENT and gynaec to take definitive treatment now...

Regards.
