Suggest Treatment For Frostbite And Blisters On Fingers
My husband got frostbite from a can of 134a leak sealer + uv dye. He is starting to get some blisters and his fingers don t have much pink. he has flushed with warm water and soaked his hands in warm water, as well as putting his hand under his arm. Does he need to go to the er?
Yes, he should get that review by a surgeon preferably plastic surgeon and assess degree of frost bite and depth in skin damage. Antiseptic dressing and assessment of peripheral pulses to rule out limb ischemia or compartment syndrome may be needed. If work up and examination is unremarkable, he may be sent home on home treatment with follow up.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
