Suggest Treatment For Frozen Shoulder And Knee Pain

I have unexplained pain and limited range of motion in both upper arms. It started with my left shoulder and I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder, went to PT with no relief. Recently the same symptoms have appeared in my right arm with the same limited range of motion. I can't raise my hands fully over my head nor put them behind my back. I saw my primary last week for physical and all blood work has come back normal. Doc is stumped. Says I probably need lots of PT and exercise and that it could take years to get better! I am 46 and this is very frustrating. Also of issue and probably not related is I have right knee pain and can't bend knee fully (It feels very similar to meniscus injury I had on other knee which was surgically repaired in 2012.) At this point I am looking for diagnosis but don't know what kind of specialist to make appointment with. I feel I have exhausted my primary care's knowledge/expertise...so I have turned to the internet to help guide me as to the next course of action!

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
A frozen shoulder is commonly caused by an inflammation in the shoulder joint and the bursae around it alongwith mild tendonitis. It is more commonly seen in diabetics. Physiotherapy and muscle relaxants with pain killers are the main treatment. Accupuncture can only help in relieving the pain.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
