Suggest Treatment For Gastritis During Pregnancy

My wife is 29 years old and in the first trimester of her pregnancy. She has been diagnosed with chronic gastritis and been informed there is no prescription drug that can be given due to the pregnancy. Please can you tell me what methods she can use to cure the gastritis? Is it curable or must she follow a strict diet for the duration of her pregnancy to prevent or alleviate the condition? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
As she is in first trimester pregnancy, any medicine should be avoided as far as possible.
Give her more milk diet, buttermilk, curd, fruit juices.
Avoid aerated drinks.
Give her rice, curd.
Give her less but frequent diet.
Avoid stress.
Give her plenty of water.
Avoid fried, chilies and junk food.
Afterwards you can give her omeprazole, rantac after consulting your Obst.
Ok and take care..
