Suggest Treatment For Gout While On Allopurinol And Indomethacin

Hi, I am suffering with gout, doctor slow in prescribing allopurinol and indomethacin together. Im concerned about side affects. How long should I use before checking blood? What are alternative meds in case its ineffective or has damaging side affects? Are these the best two meds to begin treatment with?

Hi
Went through your post, and understand your concern as gout is a chronic illness and needs prolonged treatment, you have been receiving allopurinol for controlling serum uric acid and indomethacin for acute pain,I would suggest.

1.Dont take indomethacin for more than a week it may damage kidnies, there are other alternatives live a five day course of prednisolone 20mg once a day,and switch to Chalichicine 0.5 mg twice daily for few months.
2.Allopurinol is a good drug but is to be taken three times a day alternative to it is febuxstat 40-80mg once a day.
