My local doctor suggested me to take unienzyme for 20 days daily twice after breakfast and dinner. I also underwent Thyroid test and doctors asked me to take thyronorm tablet for 3 months in empty stomach and stop and I have completed that course as well.Do you recommend a better medicine for the same.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Greasy stools may be due to incomplete digestion of fats that is present in food. It is seen in pancreatic insufficiency, achlorohydria, gallbladder, liver problems or cystic fibrosis etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Get stool to be examined for fat, pH and carbohydrates percentage.
Please consult your gastroenterologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
