Suggest Treatment For Growing Pustule Near Temple

Hello, I recently noticed a bump on the side of my head near my temple and close to my hairline. I am a 22 year old, healthy for the most part, male. The bump started rather small then I squeezed it and it began to get larger. Right now it is about the size of a dime. When I squeezed it initially it was just pus coming out but I tried today and a little bit of zit like liquid came out then pus and some blood. There s no head to the bump, though. The bump is also rather hard and it is a normal skin color and slightly red right around the bump. What could this be? My family doesn t have a lard history of cancer or anything like that.

Hi,

This is probably a soft tissue infection, like a boil. This will need drainage of any pus, followed by antibiotic treatment for 5-7 days. Kindly see your doctor, as it is not possible to drain the pus completely by squeezing.

Meanwhile you can take analgesics like ibuprofen to relieve pain and swelling there.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
