Suggest Treatment For Headache After Injury

I hit my head twice yesterday while out skiing. Both times I immediately had a headache. The first one went away after an hour or so, until i hit my head again, which was the larger impact of the two (different part of my head also; first was my front right of my head, second was my left side). It is about 20 hours later and I still have a headache. Ive taken 2 doses of Tylenol about 7 hours apart, and they temporarily subdued the headache, but I've awoken in the morning again with a headache.

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. Headcahe at injury site is normal. The concern is whether your injuries are serious or not. It can only be confirmed after evaluating presence of alarming signs
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
: seizures
: onset of new focal deficit
: persistent headache or headache not responding to medicines
: loss of consciousness/ decreasing consciousness
If there is no above sign, it means your injury is non dangerous.

Now coming to headache, you have already taken tylenol which is reducing your pain. It is good. You can take it's maximum safe dose after proper prescription. You can apply icepacks at injury site. Avoid pressure at injury site while lying down. Keep your head at higher level than chest to reduce any swelling.

Thanks. Hope it will help you. Take care.
