Suggest Treatment For Headache, Swollen Glands In The Neck, Sore Throat And Fever

I have a very big headache, swollen lymph nodes in front and back of my neck which hurt alot, a sore throat, stiff back muscles, subnormal temperature. I am 70 years old and have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia years ago. This is new and duration has been 5 weeks now. Having trouble concentrating and remembering. Could this be EBV or another stealth pathogen. Doctor thought I had a sinus infection, but antibiotics have not helped.

Hi,

Your symptoms suggest inflammation&infection of tonsillar glands (in the neck) giving you fever &head ache. In such patients, we mostly advise some antibiotic along with anti-inflammatory drug &antiallergic medication as per need.

Dosage of the drugs is decided according to ahe, bodyweight of patient &severity of cause.

You should take rest, eat light/nutritive food (avoiding cold, sour &spicy food). Avoid exposure to known allergens.

Hot saline gargles help. Over the counter anti-inflammatory pill(Combiflam) & anti-allergic pill like Cetrizine would give relief.

In case there is no relief, you need an antibiotic. Please consult your family doctor for a prescription.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
