Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Please help me. My 18 year old son has some chest pains. He was rushed to the emergency room. Doctors said he may have heart murmur and has infection in his chest. He was diagnoist with asthma at the age of 1 year old. And has allergys. One pediatriction gave him nexum for his heartburn/ acid reflux.
Childhood asthma and reflux are closely associated and likely of no concern. An infection in the chest may have no relationship with a heart murmur. Murmurs are common and not always bad. The best thing is to let them get control of the problem making him ill at the moment. After that, your doctor can decide if there is any need to worry about the murmur.
