Suggest Treatment For Hereditary Elliptocytosis Including Enlarged Spleen.
I am 80 fit, still fence twice a week. 5'8" and weigh 12st. I have hereditary elliptocytosis including enlarged spleen. Never been a problem. July 2009 felt a bit low, Spanish Doctor gave me Testim. Nov 2009 in UK had sudden 'drained head' left me gasping for air, followed by awful Nausea. This happened 2 or 3 times. GP said he wasn't worried about it. Then had first seizure and another later in July 2010.. ECG MRI all normal. No causes found. Prescribed Carbomazapine which refuse to take in view of the side effects. The Anemia was never even considered. Could this be the cause
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. No hereditary elliptocytosis is not the cause. 2. If the hemoglobin level is normal, elliptocytes would not affect. 3. Seizures needs to be evaluated with ECT. Need to take carbemazapine or other anti-epileptic drugs. Get your thyroidhormonal profile and hemogram done. If you are taking any medications, side effects needs to be evaluated. More details necessary for further opinion. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
