Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Mom generally has high BP. She has recently been experiencing severe diarrhea as a result f anti-inflammatory medication for arriviste. She became severely dehydrated with kidney function low and was rehydrated at emergency last night. Right now her BP is 122/57 on 2nd reading. Should she ego back to emergency?
Since she is experiencing considerable fluid loss, I would recommend discontinuing blood pressure medications for now. Keep her well hydrated with fluids containing electrolytes like Gatorade. Monitor blood pressure measurement every 3-4 hours. If two blood pressure readings are elevated, restart the blood pressure pills.
Hope this answers your questions Please address further questions here Regards Dr.Lekshmi
