Suggest Treatment For High Fever And Sore Throat In A Child

my daughter (7 years old) came down with a high fever and sore throat along with a croup and loss of appetite and very tired, however she has 3 or 4 dime sized red spots on her arm they do not look like bug bites but they are extremely red and raised, I am not sure if this could be a rash or a bug bite and if it could be causing this sudden onset of symptoms she is not getting better after being administered a shot at the er of decodrine and breathing treatments as well as regularly scheduled doses of tylenol

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of high fever and sore throat which is because of streptococcal infection leading to strep throat. Red rashes occurs as a consequence of co infection by bacteria and virus. Need not to worry. I would advise suggest to take proper antibiotic course such as Levofloxacin for 3-5 days. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such as Sinarest as well. You should drink plenty of fluids. Maintain proper oral hygiene. Take paracetamol every 6 hrly if fever occurs again. You should do warm saline gargles on daily basis 3- 4 times a day. Visit pediatrician once and get complete examination done. Go for blood tests along with throat swab test.
