Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello- I am a 63 yr old male, overweight and I work about half time. I have chronic pain from terrible arthritis in my left hip and serious pain in left shoulder. The shoulder has prosthetic ball, and natural cuff, a solution put into use at the time of treatment for trauma resulting from a motorcycle accident. I do not use alcohol or tobacco. I treat the pain with opiates. I have developed ticks or twitches, which exhibit as swift movements of he extremities; arms and legs. I am very self-conscious and concerned about the possibility of striking and hurting somebody nearby. Any insights or advice? Thanks
Your symptoms might be from the long use of opiates as a side effect of them. I suggest you to discuss with your doctor to search for other painkillers to use in your case.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
