Suggest Treatment For Hollow Depression Below The Left Knee

I have developed a hollow depression below the patella in my left knee that I have not noticed until the last couple of weeks. I have a history of knee problems dating from junior high when I had severe Osgood-Schlatter. There is no swelling but some instability and weakness when walking over rough ground and stairs.

Hi,

You may need imaging of the knee to determine the reason for the change in structure.

An x-ray would be helpful, if it is not enough to show any changes then your doctor may do an MRI instead.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
