Symptoms: (Occurring in just a few minutes) Super hot, never experienced before, hot flash lasting 10 to 15 minutes. These started within seconds of the inner burning starting: Heavy, drenching sweating (soaking clothing), light headedness (afraid of passing out), nausea (without vomiting), overall weakness (needed support to walk), dry mouth, hard to keep eyes open, chills from being so wet. Temperature taken when shivering from chill: 97 degrees. (Normal temperature: 97.8 degrees) Life experiences with similar symptoms: Vertigo, only without spinning and actual vomiting. Died and came back (8 times) from heart pacer stopping temporarily. (Have worn a pacemaker for the last 25+ years to sense for this. No indication of any problems since then. Healthy heart muscle, low blood pressure, low cholesterol, etc..) Contacted Cardiologist about readings sent from monitor: No issues. Earlier in the afternoon, engaged in a casual conversation with husband in bedroom, sitting up on bed was okay, laying down: experienced sensation of heart beating under sternum. Sat up, sensation stopped, laid down again, felt heart beat, sat back up, went away. Didn t worry about it. Similar event happened two weeks ago and was taken to the ER. Conclusion: Bad reaction to a new drug prescribed by an orthopedic surgeon for my leg pain. Had just started it the week before. What we all thought were side effects from the drug began to develop several days before the first event that was similar to the one described above that happened last evening. What would be your diagnosis?
