Suggest Treatment For Hyperpigmentation Marks On Face

I'm a 20 year old student in India and I had an acne break out in December, which cleared only in February. I had slight hyper-pigmentation on my skin from steroid cream usage last October [for an allergy], for which I thought leaving on baking soda on the areas [for less than 6 minutes] would slowly heal it. I did burn my skin a couple of times previously with it and the sites lost a bit of pigmentation but it healed, but not with the case of my recent baking soda application. I applied lemon juice on the spots, and my skin became really dry and the spots of lost pigmentation have now become unsightly spots of hyper-pigmentation. I realize all these home remedies are the primary cause of my troubles and have since stopped using them. Please suggest what medication/cream I can use to fade the hyperpigmentation marks [preferrably soon, but of course that isn't something I can decide] from the baking-soda-lemon burns.

Thank you for your question!
First of all you need to prevent further hyperpigmentation from occuring, by using sun protection every day with spf 30 or higher, and re applying it in case of sweating every two hours.
You should treat your face very gently, because the chemicals in some products, can lead to sun sensitivity thus produce more pigmentation.
I advice you use a gentle face wash, twice a day, apply every morning sun protection, and you can use at night a product that contains kojic acid, arbutin, licorice extract, glycolic acid or niacinamide, as these are lightening agents. Be careful to wear sunglasses and hat, and stay out of the sun during summer months when using such agents, as the skin under these agents is more sensitive to sun, in risk to burn, and to develop more pigmentation again.
I wish you good luck. I hope this helps! Feel free to contact me again if anything is unclear.
