Suggest Treatment For Hypertension

Hi, My mum (73) is on dialysis due to kidney failure, she is 5 foot 1 and weighs 69 kilos. Last night she was poorly after coming off. Her blood pressure was 175 when she left the unit at 7pm and 210 later in the night ( 2hours later)she had a really bad headache and was sick quite a few times- she refused to go to hospital .... Is this dangerous. what should I do if it happens again. she seems better today

DEAR USER
THANKS FOR CONSULTING AT HCM

I UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN

RISE IN BLOOD PRESSURE CAN BE EITHER COZ SHE IS PREVIOUSLY HYPERTENSIVE OR BCOZ OF VOLUME EXPANSION

THE BEST WAY TO REDUCE SUCH BLOOD PRESSURE IS TO PERFORM A LONG DURATION HEMODIALYSIS

YOU NEED TO COUNSEL HER ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF HEMODIALYSIS

BP CAN BE CONTROLLED IN CKD PT BY STATING THEM ON TABLET LIKE NICARDIA, METOLAZONE AND LASIC AFTER CONSULTING THE NEPHROLOGIST FOR THE SAME

REGARDING THE HEADACHE SHE HAS POST DIALYSIS WAS PROBABLY BCOZ OF DIALYSIS DISEQUILIBRIUM SYNDROME THAT USUALLY GETS RESOLVED ON ITS OWN WITHIN FEW HOURS.. SO YOU NEED NOT WORRY ABOUT IT

HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION.. YOU CAN MESSAGE ME FOR ANY FURTHER CONCERNS
