Hi, I am 30 have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (in 2004 and my A1C was 13) but I have controlled it by diet since then and it was 5.9 from 2005 to 2010. I thought I was doing so well but my triglycerides went up (always normal) to 183 and my A1C went to 6.2 in September. I have not been tested since, but my NP will not prescribe my birth control pills which I have taken for 11 years. Should I be concerned? I am in grad school and I am sitting down about 80 hours a week but I saw a nutritionist and she told me I was eating well (correct balance of whole grains, protein, low fat, low sodium, lots of vegetable and omega3 rich foods), and to eat more!
