Suggest Treatment For Indigestion In Children

My 7 year old son has had an upset stomach at night off and on for about a week now. He does not have a fever and has had no health issues in the past. Is there anything I can give him? He feels like he may throw up and he did a few nights ago and then he was fine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Proper healthy diet in a proper interval is advised. Normal physical exercise is recomended. Heavy meal at night is to be avoided. Going to bed early after taking food is also to be avoided as there is a chance of gastric reflux. Minimum 30-45 min gap is necessary.
Domperidone along with a proton pump blocker may help to reduce these symptoms by decreasing acid output and increasing the lower oesophageal sphincter tone. This medication is better to be taken in morning for about 10days to get a sustained response. Digestive enzyme along with carminative can be taken after meal if there is any suspected indigestion problems. It will also help to decrease abdominal distension.
If the symptoms do not get cured by the above therapy there may be a need to do some investigations to get diagnosis.
