Suggest Treatment For Infection In The Prostate

i RECENTLY WAS DIAGNOSED WITH PROSTATITUS AND TOOK AND WAS PRESCRIBED ANTIBIOTICS FOR 3 WEEKS TO ELLIMINATE MY INFECTION. MY PSA DROPPED 2 POINTS. i also had a pet scan and it showed activity aroiund my prostate. Can a reaccurring infection affect the pet scan results and give it a positive result?

Hi,

You can consult a urologist and plan for prostate biopsy.

Infection does not affect PET scan and it is better to go with biopsy as the scan shows activity around prostate.
