ive been awake for over 72 hours. before that i had maybe 3 hours sleep on and off....ive been suffering on and off from what i presume is insomnia for about a year and i think it may be starting to effect me mentally- its not that im not tired because believe me i am, my brain just wont shut down, and when im in a situation like i am now (awake) my mind goes to some pretty dark places. Hello
Welcome to HCM.
Your mind keeps on wandering and you keep thinking constantly.
Such thought ruminations can be seen in an anxiety or depressive disorder. This may have led to insomnia.
For insomnia, sleep inducing agents are useful like zolpidem or ativan. But these are prrscription drugs.
I would suggest you to visit a psychiatrist for further evaluation
Hope this helps.
Thanks
