Suggest Treatment For Intermittent Cough And Tickling Sensation In Throat Due To Pneumonia
Three months ago I had pneumonia with a cough. Since that time I have a intermittent cough that is brought on by a tickle in the same spot in my throat. It happens 5-7 times a day and even at night. I do not suffer from heartburn. Possibly post nasal drip? I don t want to jump to any conclusions, but it has been going on for many months now.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of intermittent cough and tickling sensation in throat after pneumonia infection is due to chest infection and it could be due to throat infection as well. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get it examined by X-Ray chest or CT scan of chest area. If bronchitis is ruled out then you should go for ENT specialist and it could be due to strep throat , go for swab and sputum test. Start treatment after proper diagnosis is made out. Till then avoid cold carbonated beverages. Take diet rich in soft food, avoid hot, sharp and spicy food substances. Doctor may prescribe proper course of antibiotics to you. Do warm saline gargles. Take steam inhalation.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
