Suggest Treatment For Itchy Red Spots On Limbs

My husband has a very itchy fine red dot rash over his trunk, legs, arms. He has had it for the last 3 days with the last 2 being more itchy and uncomfortable. He was out pulling weeds in the yard but was covered with long sleeves, gloves, pants. He took OTC Benadryl with only fair relief, is worse as soon as med wears off. No fever or pain, very itchy. Wondering what it could be and any suggestions on how to treat it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms are very suggestive of allergic skin rash. The causes may be many like any drug (if you take), or infections, or some pollens especially if he worked in fields. I would suggest he should use Zyrtec for a few days and avoid exposure to the pollens etc. This would be fine in a few days. However, he must see his doctor urgently if he is sick, or rash is extensive.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
