Suggest Treatment For Itchy Welts On Arms Caused By Poisonous Plants
I came into contact with some sort of poisonous foliage (probably poison ivy or sumac) and used Tecnu outdoor skin cleanser. When I first came into contact with the plant, three welts in a row on two parts of my arm appeared along with instant itching. The welts and the itching quickly subsided and I did not use the cleanser until a couple hours later. Now, the area I used the cleanser on is really dry and has a numb, stinging sensation. Is this normal reaction to poison ivy contact?
Yea the stinging, inflammation, redness, irritation, etc; are all symptoms of contact with poison ivy. Make sure you clean the region adequately with cold water without rubbing it much and apply the cold cream over the region. If symptoms persist for longer than 24 hours then report to a doctor.
Best wishes
