Suggest Treatment For Kidney Infection During Postpartum
My friend is 3 months post-partum and had urosepsis following the delivery of her baby. She went home from the hospital with Picc line and IV anibiotics. She is now off the IV antibiotics for over 2 months--and is having right sided flank pain, with fevers spiking >103. She has been diagnosed with another kidney infection per urine culture. Any advice for her? Her husband is in the military and she is very scared that this infection keeps coming back.
You can go for a urine routine examination followed by urine culture and start antibiotics according to culture reports. Nothing much to worry and most cases respond well with proper antibiotics. In severe cases, IV antibiotics may be required.
