Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
vascular expert for question regarding preventing DVT. I am a 63 yo male who was recently developed (since 01/12) apparent early laryngopharyngeal reflux and, during the workup, was more recently also diagnosed (12/13) with a likely related small sliding hiatal hernia. As a result, I have been sleeping with the head of my bed elevated for the past two years. Unfortunately, that doesn t seem to improve the condition much and it doesn t seem to respond at all to acid-blocking medications. However, my bigger concern at the moment, is that I was more recently diagnosed (10/13) with early VENOUS REFLUX in both legs (common Saphenous veins)
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of early venous reflux in both lower limbs, laryngo-pharyngeal reflux, small sliding hiatal hernia not responding to sleeping head high up position and PPI. I would advise you the following: - First of all get an appointment with vascular or general Surgeon so that surgery can be planned according to the clinical evaluation and reports of venous color doppler of both the lower limbs. - Reflux: sliding hiatal hernia might have increased and may need a corrective surgery as you have tried medical management for the last years that has failed to relieve your symptoms. Go for review investigations and surgery if required.
