Hello,
I can understand your concern. From the symptoms of pain and pressure you have described specifically around the
temporal lobe area, there can be two possibilities.
Firstly, you might be suffering from
sinusitis and thus, congested sinuses can cause such type of pain that you may feel behind eyes and in the head too. If you feel increase in pain while tilting your head in a certain way, then it is a peculiar sign of having sinusitis. Are you having cold and fever? For this problem, you can consult an
ENT specialist or
general surgeon who will prescribe you antibiotics and decongestants to clear sinuses and treat infection after examining you and confirming the problem.
If the specialist clears you of sinusitis, you should visit a
dentist to look for presence of infected tooth. A decayed tooth in the upper jaw can cause pain up to temporal lobe and headache. Treatment of this tooth by
root canal treatment or extraction depending on the extend of decay can relieve the pain.
By the time diagnosis is made, you can take
Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg up to thrice a day to have relief in pain.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you recover soon.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
