Suggest Treatment For Liver Cirrhosis And High SGPT Level
Hi, My wife (diabetic) was diagnosed with liver scirrhosis (Age 59, non - drinker) during Cholecystectomy (Gall bladder removal) surgery. Her LFT is normal except S.bilurbin 0.27 and SGPT 52. Doctors say, do not worry and do nothing at this time but I am concerned. Are they giving thisa advise as there is no treatment?
Usually ALT (SGPT) or AST (SGOT) values higher than "two times the upper normal limit", is considered abnormal ( in some countries, ALT or AST values of more than 100 are considered abnormal).
Value of AST or ALT greater than 85 or above maybe investigated further.
as per your wife present scenario, NOTHING to worry. wish the patient good and sound health,
liver function test maybe repeated every 6 to 12 months.
hope to answer your concern. for further queries, you may post a direct question to me via HCM portal.
