Suggest Treatment For Low Blood Sugar

I am feeling dizzy, weak, my blood sugar keeps dropping lower than normal, this afternoon it was 60, last night, (i work nights as a nurse) it kept going down to 80 even after eating. I also have symptoms of a UTI, I got Cipro today and started it but I still have weakness and feelings of hypoglycemia. Could I also be anemic, I just finished my menstrual cycle

Hello there,
It would have helped to know if you are a diabetic on medicines or not. If you are having low sugars in spite of eating then there is definitely something wrong. If you are not on any atidiabetic medicines then you need to be observed for any reasons for hyperinsulinemia which could be bringing down your sugars frequently. Please visit an endocrinologist who can do the necessary examination and if needed put you under observation.
It could also be due to reactive hypoglycemia wherein insulin secretion is not properly orchestrated to food intake because of which excess insulin is secreted after a delay which causes sugars to go low after a couple of hours of food intake. You need to split your meals into small parts and eat more frequently so that you dont leave a chance to get hypoglycemia.
Lastly if you are on antidiabetic medicines or insulin shots then you need to reduce the doses or change the timing of doses to match food intake.
Anaemia will not bring down sugars although you can fee weak and fatigued beacuse of anaemia. So check your Hemoglobin levels. Just finishing your menstrual cycle is no reason to be anaemic, unless you had a very heavy period. Then you need to replaced with iron supplements.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
