Suggest Treatment For Low Hemoglbin And Low HDL Levels
my blood level read 10.6 on 1/10/12. My Doctor would like it to read 12. I am a 80 year old woman and was wondering if eating liver and spinach will help to get my level back to where it should be.. My platlets, B12, potassium levels are normal. I do take BP medications a total of 45mg daily and thyroid medication 0.025 each day. My cholestrol is 143, LDL's are fine, however my HDL's are low at 28. If you could give me advice as to what I could do to improve my situation I would appreciate it. I am a very active 80 year old and am able to move around without any trouble. I will wait for your reply. Thank you.

Hello and welcome madam...
Yes you can improve your condition. Takind spinach and liver is rich in iron and will help in your hemoglobin.. Low hemoglobin has a list of causes most common is dietary and bleeding (internal bleeding ). In your case it looks like the dietry cause.. The other questions HDL(50-60mg/DL...normal range in females). It is produced in liver and indicate the health of arteries. Causes for low hdl.. HDL levels are decreased in association with recent illness, starvation and stress, smoking. obesity and lack of exercise, medications such as thiazide diuretics, steroids, and beta-blockers.
So eat a healthy and well balanced diet.you will be fine then.
Hope you'd understand. See in food health bye
