Suggest Treatment For Melisma And Scars Due To Acne

hi i am suffering from acne and melasma from post 5 years i have tried every medicine from oral antibiotics to retinoids n for melasma i took gylocolic peels as well but no r help me...i get lot of blackheads wich turn into pimples and leave scars for months....as a daily regime i use 2 % sal acid face wash and to control melasma i use melalite xl but no responce..cud u plz suggest a way out

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of melisma and scars due to acne since 5 years which is because skin has increased sensitivity of getting pigmented and it leads to post inflammation hyper-pigmentation. It could be due to clogging of skin pores and senstivity of skin. Need not to worry. You should apply Meladerm cream and it is purely safe to use as this is combination of hydroquinone + Tretinoin + steroid and apply it at night time. You should wash your face daily with cold water and face wash containing salycylic acid twice a day and apply cream containing azelac acid which is good for acne as well as marks. Drink plenty of water. If condition doesn't get well in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination and treatment . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like minocyclin, steroid ointment and may recommend chemical peeling for marks. Apply aloe vera gel at night.
