Hi i am suffering with irregulAR Periods i have consulted the gynic then she did a scan She told thAt there is a cyst which is bigger in size so she told me that i needto Undergo laproscopy for the cyst removal . So finally i wanted to ask you is after removing the cyst can i conceive?
Cysts in the ovaries can develop due to different causes. In case of a simple ovarian cyst with clear fluid as content and size less than 5 cms medical treatment can be given. As your doctor advised the laparoscopic cystectomy the possibilities are: - The size of the cyst could be more than 5cms and associated with symptoms. - It could be a complex ovarian cyst. - Ovarian cyst with possible torsion.
During laparoscopy sometimes only part of the ovary can be removed, in case of cyst involving the entire ovary sometimes the complete ovary may have to be removed. Even after removing one ovary as the second ovary remains, and functions, there is a possibility for conception.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
