Suggest Treatment For Mild Chest Pain

Hi, I am shantanoo and 48 year old male. For about a year i feel a pain on the left side of the chest. It is around 3 inches below the collar bone. I can feel the pain when I press on the area. Looks the pain is superficial. The pain can be felt when I press down on the collar bone also, at a place near the middle of the chest. What should I do? I have a feeling that it aggravates when I do lot of typing on the computer

HI
Well come to HCM
I appreciate your concern, the pain that you described here could be muscular pain and may be due to poor posture, try to maintain the good posture, for the medication this can be treated with, Tab Diclofenac 50 mg sustain release once in day, I would advise you to get done the ECG for safe side, left side pain can not be underestimated or taken lightly, hope this information helps.

General & Family Physician Dr. Chobufo Ditah's  Response
Hi,

This pain points to a problem related to the soft tissues an/or bone and not the heart. I think a trial of pain medications like tylenol and ibuprofen whenever you have symptoms would help. I will also recommend that you try limiting the various activities that make this pain to start or get worse.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
