Suggest Treatment For Mild Headaches And Pain In The Head
i have been having a cold , i believe a head cold, i have running nose and eyes, mild headache, i can feel mucus drain in the back of my throat. I have had a few sharpe pains in my head also. i wanted to know if that could be a side effect from the cold ?
Headache can be caused due to cold, particularly when cold is associated with inflammation of sinuses. The inflamed sinuses can also cause heaviness of head. In most cases the cause is viral infection, and the blocked sinuses clears off. You can take over the counter flu medication like Zyrtec or Levocet for symptoms like runny nose, irritated eyes, and anti-inflammatory like Panadol for headache. If the symptoms persist beyond 5 days, or worsen you may need antibiotic prescription to treat cold.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ayesha Shareef,
