Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Yesterday, my husband complained of mild pain in his side, which he says he doesn t have today. He says he has mild nausea/upset stomach today and has not eaten much again today. He looks weak-eyed, but says that is from the severe heat/humidity. He has no previous health problems other passing than the first kidney stone ever just 6 months ago. He visited his Kidney specialist in May, who reported seeing no additional stones at this time. Any ideas on what may be the problem?
Very likely he is having gastroenteritis, which is a viral infection affecting his gastrointestinal system.
This is generally a self-limiting condition and he should start to feel better in a couple of days. He may take oral rehydration solutions (over the counter) to substitute the lost water and electrolytes and try to rest as possible.
If there is no improvement in the next 3-4 days or if he notices any worsening, he will need to see his doctor.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
