Suggest Treatment For Mild Vaginal Dysphasia And HPV

I have been diagnosed with mild vaginal dysphasia and HPV. I had my second Pap smear and it still shows just mild dysphasia. I had a biopsy that came back normal. Should I insist on having the dysphasia removed? My doctor wants to wait another six months and repeat the Pap again.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The vaginal dysphasis with human papilloma virus and normal biopsy is a matter of conservative approach so far as gynec or surgery opinion is concerned. Guidelines of following will be helpful:
- Utmost care for vaginal hygiene
- No prolong use of same tampon during menses
- No intercourse till recovery (if active sexually)
- Plenty of liquids to avoid secondary bacterial infection
- Control of blood sugar and body weight
- Balanced nutritious diet including fresh yogurt (which support normal physiologic vaginal flora and pH to fight against the bugs)
- Wait for explained period of time till repeat PAP report

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
