Suggest Treatment For Minor Back Pain That Extends To The Hips And Legs
I ve had minor back pain for as long as I can remember, for the past two years the pain has gotten worse. It s right in the center of my lower back. I use to be able to work right through it but now I m having trouble standing for more than a few minutes before the pain starts. If I don t sit down the pain extends into my hips and upper legs to the point where I just can t stand..help
It is obvious you have typical pain due to radiculopathy, which is pinched nerves in the lower spine. The pain, in this case, starts at the lower back and spreads down the hips and legs.
You will need a neurological examination to rule out important damages of the nerves and see the need for an MRI in case the doctor thinks spinal stenosis needs to be ruled out.
If there is no physical finding that suggests spinal stenosis, you may need to start physiotherapy to help relieve your symptoms and prevent recurrences.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Kind regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj. General and Family Physician
